Beach season is finally here — but let's not forget about the stressful responsibility of keeping track of your seaside valuables. Enter the Beach Vault: a simple invention that allows you to safely and subtly store items under your towel and pillow — which are included with your purchase. Husband and wife team Krystal V. DaCunha and Marcal DaCunha invented the Beach Vault after a moment of personal inspiration. "We were driving home from the beach and I said to my husband Marcal how annoyed and paranoid I was at the beach," Krystal V. DaCuhna wrote to Mashable. "Our son was very young and I was tired. All I wanted to do was take a nap and I couldn't because I was watching keys, wallets and cellphones." The Beach Vault is a safe that screws into the sand. After securely leveling it off with the ground, fill the vault with phones, wallets, speakers, and anything else you wouldn't want stolen. Then, just lay back, fall asleep and don't worry too much — your valuables are hidden in the depths of the sand. "As I complained to him, I remembered an idea I had in college while taking an innovative and creativity course," DaCuhna told Mashable. "That night we went to work." After four successful Kickstarter campaigns, the DaCuhna's dream became a reality - the Beach Vault is available on their website for $39. Our favorite Beach Vault hack: buy two, and fill the second one with ice and drinks. Happy summer! Have something to add to this story? Share it in the comments. TopicsGadgets
