Bitmoji, the personalized cartoon versions of you, were officially added to Snapchat in July 2016, a few months after Snap acquired Bitmoji maker Bitstrips.

Starting today, Snapchat will let users add Bitmoji to on-demand geofilters, little drawings on top of photos that are mainly used to celebrate special events like birthdays and weddings.

To create your Bitmoji-enhanced geofilter, choose a theme (currently you have the choice of Thanksgiving, birthday, wedding and celebration) on the Snapchat website, and then customize the geofilter with your own design, message, colors and Bitmoji.

Your Bitmoji will automatically appear if your account is linked to your Snapchat account. You can, however, also add a Friendmoji -- that is, a Bitmoji belonging to a friend. Search for a friend in the drop-down menu. If you both have a Bitmoji linked to your Snapchat account, you'll get a choice of adding it to your geofilter.

Snapchat's on-demand geofilters start at $5 (the price depends on the geographic area you're covering and the duration of the geofilter) and are a nifty way for the social network to generate revenue. And while the Bitmoji craze has subsided a little from the days when you saw them many times per day on Facebook and Snapchat, they're a logical addition to on-demand geofilters, which are highly personal in nature.
