SINGAPORE -- National hero Joseph Schooling has been a busy man since he returned to Singapore, but he found time to commemorate his historic gold medal win by getting inked. On Tuesday, the 21-year-old swimmer who beat idol Michael Phelps in the 100m butterfly to take home Singapore's first Olympic gold medal, showed off his new ink at a press conference held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre. The tattoo on his right bicep is of the Olympic interlocking rings symbol, to represent the five continents coming together to compete. A video of the tattoo session was posted on Instagram by the Singapore Swimming Association and has since received almost 5,000 likes. Schooling also posted a picture of his tattoo onto his social media accounts with the caption: "It's been a couple years but I think I've finally earned that tattoo." According to The Straits Times, this is Schooling's second tattoo. His first ink is located on his shoulder and is of a Longhorn in reference to his alma mater, the University of Texas.
