All that work work work work work paid off: Rihanna will receive the MTV Video Music Awards' Video Vanguard award at this year's ceremony. The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, basically the VMA's version of a lifetime achievement award, is the biggest honor of the night. Previous recipients include Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Kanye West. Rihanna is a two-time VMA Video of the Year winner (for "We Found Love" and "Umbrella") and the youngest solo artist to score 14 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Her latest release, Anti, dropped in January. Competing for Video of the Year this year are Beyonce's "Formation," Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Adele's "Hello," Kanye West's "Famous" and Drake's "Hotline Bling." The MTV VMAs will air live Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET from Madison Square Garden. TopicsVMAs
