Airbnb has activated its disaster response page following the record-breaking flooding in Louisiana. 。 With at least seven people dead and some 20,000 evacuated as a result of the flood, the accommodation site has set live the tool that allows hosts to offer their homes free of charge.
。 Anyone with a property listed in the affected area has been emailed by the site with a request for help. Existing hosts and local residents with extra space can host those in need for free, and all Airbnb bookings in the affected area are fee-free from Aug 14 to Sept 4.

。 Airbnb's disaster response page was first put into action during Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and has been deployed everywhere from Serbia to London, Toronto and the Philippines after extreme weather events. 。 Several homes and properties nearby were available for free on the site Monday afternoon.。The site will also use its networks to provide general disaster response information to guests and hosts. 。
