The smaller device will reportedly be cheaper than the $129 full-sized Google Home. Though the report didn't specify details about the new speaker, it seems that it would likely to be comparable to Amazon's popular Echo Dot, which allows you to convert your existing speakers into Alexa-enabled devices.。Mashable Light SpeedWant more out-of-this world tech, space and science stories?Mashable Light SpeedWant more out-of-this world tech, space and science stories?Sign up for Mashable's weekly Light Speed newsletter. 。

reports Google is also preparing a new Chromebook that will carry the Pixel name. Details around the device, which would be a successor to the 2015 Chromebook Pixel, are unclear.。

Importantly, the report notes the new notebook will almost certainly run Chrome OS, not the long-rumored Chrome OS and Android mashup that's been whispered about for so long. Though some reports said Google once had plans to merge Android and Chrome, the company has publicly said it has no plans to retire Chrome OS. 。
Both new products are expected to launch later this year at Google's fall hardware event. The main attraction will, of course, be the next two Pixel phones, which we already know a fair amount about, thanks to a steady stream of leaks.。
