Amazon is hustling to get you your packages.

The e-commerce giant officially launched its one-day shipping free for Prime members, who pay an annual $120 subscription fee for free shipping, streaming services, and other benefits.

In April, Amazon announced the quicker shipping (Prime has come with free two-day shipping since 2005) as the new standard coming soon -- and now it's here. In a company blog post this week, Amazon staff wrote this means last-minute purchases will arrive the "very next day."

As of Tuesday, 10 million products across the U.S. are eligible for the one-day shipping. Prime Now is also available in certain cities for one- or two-hour delivery.

Just because one-day delivery is becoming the de facto delivery standard doesn't mean that faster options won't be available. Also, some items will still take two days to reach you.

Now the pressure is on Amazon's fulfillment and logistics teams to deliver — and quickly.
