That cheesy, gooey treat you're about to enjoy might come with a dose of spray-tanned megalomania and demagoguery that you may not have anticipated. 。

Over two decades ago, it was Donald Trump who introduced the stuffed crust pizza to the American people.。

According to。 Adweek 。, Pizza Hut debuted one of its most famous dishes on March 26, 1995 with a 30-second commercial spot featuring Trump and his first wife, Ivana (the two had divorced in 1990).  。

The commercial is rife with sexual innuendo, insinuating the two are in the middle of a torrid affair. It's uncomfortable for those who know Trump's reputation today for inflammatory, sexist remarks at the very least. There are even some tongue-in-cheek jokes about how Ivana is "only entitled to half" of Donald's pizza. 。

The commercial is humorous, and it's hard to imagine Trump ever had a sense of humor about himself. However, he's hardly making fun of himself in any deprecating way. 。

If he did have a real sense of humor about himself, the commercial would have featured a knife and fork while a crowd of New Yorkers watched in horror. 。 But even though Trump was just as egotistical as he was back in the '90s, it's obvious things have changed. So much so that Pizza Hut's parent company doesn't even want to mention Trump.  。

The comb-overed cat is out of the bag now, though. Blue state pizza lovers will now have to reconcile their love of cheesy crust and this knowledge if they ever want to truly enjoy a stuffed slice again.。
