Nothing says "2017, a fresh start" like an 11-foot poop statue.
。 Each year, in the remote Siberian village Yakutia in the Sakha Republic, local artist Mikhail Bopposov creates giant manure sculptures based on the Chinese zodiac.。 For 2017, the Year of the Rooster, Bopposov has constructed a 3.5-meter (11.48-feet) sculpture of a rooster out of the excrement of 17 cows.
。 After injuring his leg during the construction of the piece, the artist had to employ the help of his two brothers to lift and set the heavy feces bird.。 Thanks for signing up! 。 Tweet may have been deleted。 View this post on Instagram

Bopposov works as a building caretaker at the village school and began carving out of manure in 2008, and later began the tradition of erecting Chinese zodiac signs for his village's entertainment. Here are his sculptures of a rooster, chimpanzees and a giant snake to welcome in their respective years.

Though the 56-year-old artist also creates snow and ice sculptures, for his zodiac pieces, dung is his preferred material because it is easier to mold in the below-zero temperatures of Yakutia.。
Cold as his village is, Bopposov's remarkable sculpture is expected to melt in the warm sun of spring. 。
Welp, happy 2017.。
